There is an amazing practice of concentration which I have found helpful when teaching students in my classes on psychic development.
In the previous lesson we learned the importance of being able to focus on an image we created with our third eye for a specific amount of time. Remember that the purpose of such a practice is so that as a psychic, you will be able to describe exactly what you are seeing to your clients, and to strengthen your powers of visualization. This skill comes in handy when your client needs more description or clarification of what you are seeing (of course this is for the purpose of making a connection with both spirit and your client during your readings).
The next lesson is Concentration
Our next lesson is one of strengthening concentration. This skill is of utmost importance during psychic readings because readings are first and foremost a conversation. All successful conversations are fluid, and have movement. As a psychic it will be necessary for you to move just as fluidly during your readings for the purpose of being of service to your clientele. There is an amazing practice of concentration which I have found helpful when teaching students in my classes on psychic development. I have affectionately termed it “Create and Destroy”.
Challenge:
Resume the optimum relaxed state you constructed in our first lesson (soft lighting, eyes closed if necessary, quiet space). Visualize again a lit candle. Begin describing this candle aloud in detail as you did in the previous lesson What is its shape? It’s size? It’s color? What color is the flame? Does it flicker or is it still?
Now destroy it. You can blow it up into a million little pieces, you can set it ablaze, and witness it crumble into ashes, you can imagine it splattering onto a wall. Get creative and have fun, but DO visualize it being destroyed completely, and DO describe its destruction aloud. Once you have destroyed your first image, visualize something else, such as a car. First, like before, describe it in detail. Be sure to describe it as much as you can, as this strengthens your focus (the surroundings of your car, color, size, the lighting of its surrounding environment, daytime or nighttime, etc). Then once you have maximized your description, destroy this object in any way you wish as well.
Why is this important?
Why, you may ask, is this exercise an important exercise in developing your psychic abilities? How could this possibly be useful to you as a psychic at all? The answer is very simple. When you are having dialogue with your clientele using your clairvoyance, the material for that conversation will be coming primarily from your images generated in your mind’s eye. As the conversation moves, those images will inevitably need to shift and change. It is appropriate then, to strengthen your ability to switch images as needed for the purpose of being of service during your psychic readings.
Focus & Concentration
The two skills of focus and concentration go hand in hand in this craft. Practice them together in different spaces. While in line at the grocery store, while waiting at a stoplight, and any time you have some free time available. As we move forward in your training, these skills will be the building blocks upon which you will construct your psychic practice. DO practice these exercises, and DO have fun with it. You are, after all, unlocking a latent and most powerful talent.
