Interview With a Psychic: Gloria

Describe how you first found out about your psychic abilities.

I have always existed in an alternate universe. In the world where I live in there are ghosts and spirits, Gods and Goddesses, extraterrestrials and faeries, and all manner of beings, both friendly and frightening. As a small child, I became accustomed to speaking with a wide variety of Beings who no one else could see. These were not my “imaginary” friends, such as many children have, but individuals that I saw, and talked to, and understood.

If I had not had my grandparents and my mother, I am sure I would have been convinced that I was going insane, but since they saw these beings as well, and regularly asked me about those that I saw and heard, validating my experience, I came to recognize myself as different, but not crazy. I was only three years old, the first time I met a ghost, the spirit of my grandmother’s brother, who had come to say goodbye on the day of his passing. Grandma talked with her brother for a while, and then, even through her grief, took time to talk with me about what I had seen, and how most people didn’t have that kind of experience, and when they did, most did not believe what had happened.

Maybe it was just that my brain was wired differently, I decided when I was a teenager. I had many people, including my father, try to convince me that I was “making things up” or just hallucinating, but over time, I have come to accept the visitations as a gift, and the connections as a valid part of my life.

What have you done to develop your abilities?

I have always been reluctant to tell others about my experiences, partly because of instructions I received from my grandmother early on, to keep this a secret, and to not let anyone outside the family know that I could do this.

I can feel the resistance in my body, even as I write these words, fearing that my readers will judge me harshly, and think me delusional. I want to reassure you that I am a very practical, down to earth person, who just happens to talk to spirits.

During the sixties and seventies, when the people of my generation were experimenting with drugs, I was in the military, having children, and going to college and university. I had a marvelous teacher, when I was still in my teens, who was a Rosicrucian master, that taught me how to be a medium, as well as many other lessons about arcane and occult matter.

As a young adult, I had studied with a Navajo weaver, who was also a healer and shaman. After her death, at the hands of a drunken driver, I had continued my studies with a variety of other native teachers, including a Voodoo priestess, a Cherokee medicine woman and a spiritualist who found dead bodies for the police.

When I was in my thirties, I was more concerned with making a career in real estate, and raising my two teenage sons than any other psychic pursuits. In the mid-eighties, I met and trained with some of the finest psychics and shamans and have become recognized as an equal among them.

Describe your skills.

My abilities to See, Hear and Know are not limited to any one tool. I frequently use multiple tools in any one reading, combining tarot, crystals, pendulums, and pure psychic intuition, as well as life skills that I have learned in almost 65 years of living.

I can separate out, and do “only” a tarot reading if my clients want me to, however, I prefer to bring all my skills and abilities to the table. I work with the issues that I see before me, and answer questions until my clients are satisfied that they have the information they need to make an informed decision. I have well over 60 decks of tarot cards that I use, as well as other oracle cards, some that combine well together, some that work best by themselves.

I was trained to read palms, cards, omens and portents by my grandparents, to interpret dreams and visions by shamans and Jungian dream analysts. My natural psychic talent allows me to see into the heart of the matter, bringing light into dark places. I have provided well over a thousand readings, and have never had a complaint.

Can you communicate with spirits who have passed on?

Ghosts are basically remnants of beings who have lived on this planet and have passed over and for one reason or another have not moved on.

Most of them are stuck, frankly. Now I know there is an entire industry out there that works with dealing with the dear departed, as they like to call them, but frankly, I’ve had enough of the dear departed. And I’ve found most of them aren’t any smarter when they’re dead than they were when they were alive. So, this is not my area in which I want to make contact with these beings and it’s not where I want you to be. What I want you to know is that as you become a brighter beacon, as this crown chakra work becomes more prevalent, as you open yourself up, you may be attractive to these beings, and what I want you to know, is that you can send them away. You do not have to spend time with them, and if you have additional problems, either call on your guides to protect you, and they will help you send them away, or call on me and I am very clear about this, this is one area where I am particularly clear, I do not want people getting trapped, or, not trapped, but involved with earth-bound spirits who may in one way or another cause problems for them.

Are you able to turn your psychic abilities ‘on’ or ‘off’ when you want to?

Although you could say that I am “on” most of the time, for me, it is more like the noise of a motor running in the background. I can ignore it, and get on with whatever I am doing, unless it becomes so loud that it interferes and I have to do something about it. Because I am an empath, which means I feel what others are feeling, sometimes at inconvenient times, I use a method of protection that keeps me from soaking up stray emissions that could make me ill, or cause me harm. Over the years, I have developed the ability to bring up my “shield” in an instant, and to put it on automatic, when I am in an area that may require it.

I am not sure what a “normal” life looks like. My psychic abilities are part of who I am – I would be lost if I didn’t have them. For me, this IS normal.

What is life like living with these abilities?

Since, as I indicated above, I don’t know what it is like to not have these abilities, I really don’t know if it has made it easier or harder. It has made it more interesting, colorful and dynamic to be able to see beyond the standard dimensions, or at least I think so.

When I was a little girl, I was in trouble a lot, due to what my teachers called “lying” and what I called telling the truth. I have learned to be more tactful, as I have gotten older.

Do you think anyone can develop psychic skills?

I believe we all have psychic skills – we developed them to stay alive when the saber-toothed tiger and other predators were among us. Most people suppress their ability, and many have had it suppressed by the culture they live in, and the people they live with.

Like a talent for art – there are Picassos among psychics, and there are also Sunday painters, who fill in the numbers. You will never know which you are, until you try.

What do you like best about working with PsychicNetworkers?

For the last eight years, I have provided assistance, coaching and readings to people all over the world. The ability to reach a small town in Western Australia, or Southern Chile, while sitting in my home in almost so incredible as to be magical.

Do you get readings for yourself?

Definitely – I have a particular tarot consultant who is one of the best I have ever encountered who is my regular advisor. In addition, I seek out readings, so I can stay abreast of the latest trends and fashions in readings.

When I am looking for a reader for myself, I look for someone who I feel is honest, and will give me straight answers without a lot of mumbo-jumbo. No tricksters allowed.

I believe I am easy to read for – however, it depends on the skills of the readers – to the amateur, I am difficult, because I am opaque, harking back up to that protection that I wear like a cloak.

I do read for myself – it took me years to learn how to get my ego out-of-the-way, and to be able to truly “hear” what was being said without construing it based on my wants. Mary K. Greer’s book, Tarot for Yourself is excellent for anyone who wishes to learn to read tarot for themselves. I do not recommend to beginners that you start with yourself – you just have too much baggage in the way.

Is there anything else you would like to share about your abilities?

My whole life has been a metaphysical experience, so I am not quite sure how to answer this question. As I said in my opening answer, I have always existed in an alternate universe. These were not my “imaginary” friends, such as many children have, but individuals that I saw, and talked to, and understood.

When I was four years old, I used to line up my dolls, and play “school”. I would solemnly instruct them from my books and what I learned at Sunday School. I was encouraged by my grandparents, who would sit with my dolls, and listen to my lessons. My grandmother, who practiced many forms of divination including Bibliomancy*, told me when I was only six years old that each of us are described in the Book of Proverbs** in the Bible, and the verse corresponding to our birth date would be an indication to our future. For men it is in Chapter 21, for women it is in Chapter 31. For my birthday, the 26th, the proverb reads “She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.” I asked what this meant, and Grandma said it meant I would be a teacher. I thought this was the highest calling anyone could answer, and was delighted with the prospect.

As I grew up I learned more about Bibliomancy, as well as many other paths to divination. While my grandmother started my learning about the Mysteries, I enthusiastically read and studied many subjects on my own.

These early experiences sent me on a path towards being a professor in an eastern university 20 years later. But it was not to be. For professors, although some are great teachers, must also be capable of functioning within the rigorous limitations of the school bureaucracy. I could not, for I was fascinated with many subjects far beyond those allowed in schools at that time. I left teaching behind, I thought, to pursue a career in business and the arts.

Although I may have thought I left teaching, teaching was not done with me. I found that in every career, there are always opportunities to instruct others, and there are many forms of school other than the university structure. I began with past life regression courses, added dream workshops, moved on to creating explorations into the Mysteries, such as The Goddess Way and Wild Women!

And from leading my groups I learned a truth about myself. No matter what my role appeared to be, I was always a student as well. For in every class I taught, I frequently learned more from my students than they knew. In their stories, their discoveries, their joy and pain, I learned and explored new landscapes of human thought and emotion.

As time went by, I found there was a particular kind of study, a format, if you will, that served best to deepen the knowledge of all involved. Whether as student or as teacher, I found I learned the most when I was involved in a continuing series of classes with a group of committed individuals for a minimum of one year.

In these kind of committed classes we see each other on a regular basis through the year. We transform and we grow as individuals and as a group. The power of gathering together in a regular manner to pursue a course of study and personal growth, creates a synergistic energy that lifted us all higher than we had expected to go.

Miracles have occurred in every year-long program I know. Great miracles, small miracles, incredible, healing miracles. In my first program I attended, I met my soul mate, whom I am still with 22 years later and we are still just as much in love. I have seen people create new lives, like Susan, who thought she wanted a career as a dancer, but found she was still trying to please her mother, and that what she really wanted to do was be a carpenter. In another group, a severely abused woman, Caron, discovered the strength to leave the abusive situation she was in and create a new life as the director of a shelter for abused women and children. In my most recent group, one man has reclaimed the business that was stolen from him by unscrupulous buyers and has begun to turn the business around, saving the jobs of his loyal employees. Another woman is using the power of the group to help her succeed in kicking a drug habit that kept her enchained for the last 17 years. These ar e just a few of the miracles I have witnessed and participated in over the last 25 years.

In my current group, I find that I am moving to a place new to me, where my relationship with the Neters, with Spirit, has become a melding, where my access to Spirit has become unlimited. I can find no separation, and in that union, I find great joy. Realizing that I am part of all that is, at a cellular level, far beyond just intellectual knowledge, has created in me an understanding of life and existence that surpasses anything I have ever expected to learn by myself. As I delve deeper and deeper in the Mysteries, I find I know more and understand less. And this is good.

The transformative outcomes of these groups could not be plotted or planned, by teacher or student. You cannot anticipate the many healings, the new relationships or the magic that occurs naturally from this form of study – but I have come to expect miracles to occur, almost on a daily basis.

Why have I told you all this?

Because I want to make a recommendation to anyone who would deepen their soul connections. Find a teacher and join a group of like-minded individuals, who meet on a regular basis and make a one year commitment to that group and the subject matter. Whether it is Alchemical Healing, Egyptian Mysteries, or some other subject entirely, the practice of regularly coming together in a process dedicated to personal growth and knowledge will transform your life. You cannot control or predict the results of this transformation, you can only experience it.

Come and join together in a glorious exploration of the universe. As each of us raises our personal vibration, we raise the vibration of the planet, creating a new existence not only for ourselves, but for our world. Maybe we can even create Peace on Earth.
