Interview With a Psychic: Dee Waters

Describe how you first found out about your psychic abilities.

I am a natural-born Intuitive Empath blessed with the gifts of Clairsentience (the ability to feel others’ emotions); Clairaudience (ability to hear), and Clairvoyance (ability to see).

I have always been a very “sensitive” person and from the time of my early childhood, I would pick up on feelings and emotions of those around me. I was always told by my family that I was too sensitive and that I needed to learn to “harden up.” But that was really difficult for me. How does one shut down their abilities to “sense” and “feel” those around them? I felt alone and uncomfortable whenever I had feelings like these because I never understood them. And, I had to keep things to myself because my family did not believe in going to anybody on the outside if there was a problem (for instance, “therapy”), let alone even conceive of psychic abilities! I grew up in the “Boomer” generation and although psychic phenomena were known to exist for some, it was not as prevalent as it is today. As I have gotten older, and as I have been on my own journey through life, I have learned to acknowledge the gifts that I have been blessed with.

What have you done to develop your abilities?

I received my training in Mediumship, Psychic Intuitive and Psychic Development at the Holistic Studies Institute (“HSI”) in New York City. I am predominantly Clairsentient (ability to feel emotions) and Empathic. I continue to self-educate myself by taking metaphysical courses and going to seminars.

Sometimes life can be very difficult. We reach a crossroads and we don’t know where to turn, which path to take or whom to talk to or trust. We lose perspective, feel lost and confused. It’s at this point in time – at the crossroads of our life – that we need to look at ourselves and the situation(s) that we are in. And, that’s where I come in… to help guide you on your path, to help empower you so you can live a life of joy and happiness, which you so deserve!

My reading style is one of compassion and inspiration. I will not sugarcoat what I see, feel or hear. I am honest and upfront and will not judge you. Everything that is discussed is always kept confidential.

I am able to tune into your energy through your voice vibrations and the energy of my Angel/Spirit Guides and yours. I utilize the Tarot for direction, and I sometimes use the Pendulum as another tool of divination, if needed.

As an energy reader, I am very sensitive and can pick up on emotions, whether hostile, anxious or sad. So, if you are angry or had a fight with someone, or even if you are exhausted from crying, please take a few minutes to calm down and collect your emotions. The reason for this is because your emotions will infiltrate what I pick up and what I see and feel for you and those around you. It’s like being in a fog-filled room where everything is hazy, nothing is clear! The best way to calm down is to do some deep breathing. Inhale slowly, count to 5; and then exhale slowly, count to 5. Do this until you feel a sense of calm come over you. No one can get a good reading when they are in a hostile, anxious or sad place. Calm down and then when you feel a bit more relaxed – call!

Can you communicate with spirits who have passed on?

I am a “Sensitive” which gives me the ability to discern spirits. I also have the ability to “feel” the mood of spirits. This is a type of Clairvoyance and should not be confused with those that can communicate with spirits. Through the emotions radiated by the Spirits I perceive the messages they left in their passing.

Are you able to turn your psychic abilities ‘on’ or ‘off’ when you want to?

As mentioned earlier, I am an Intuitive Empath and an energy reader. I am predominantly Clairsentient, which means I pick up on the feelings and emotions of those around me. Being an empath can be debilitating at times, and by this I mean that when I am in a crowded place, or in a place where there are loud noises, I can become quite drained because I am feeling too much energy from those around me. When this happens, I have learned to walk away or remove myself in order to become more grounded. If I want to go shopping, for instance, I choose a time of day when I know the stores will be less crowded. You won’t find me shopping in a department store on a weekend!

What is life like living with these abilities?

When I was a young child and young adult, I felt so misunderstood. I did not know how to explain what I was feeling to myself, let alone to anyone else. It was a very lonely road and I kept a great deal hidden inside.

As I have gotten older and have learned about my “special abilities” I have become more accepting of my feelings, especially those “gut” feelings that I have learned to trust more and more. It’s very liberating. There are days, and I am not going to lie, that I still feel hesitant and unsure of what I am feeling, and when I have chosen to ignore the “voice,” I wanted to kick myself! But, just like you, I am human and the more mistakes I make, the more enlightened I become.

Do you think anyone can develop psychic skills?

Absolutely! As a matter of fact, we are all born with innate abilities, but have disconnected ourselves from utilizing them because of fear and lack of understanding. Young children are very “aware” and can sense and hear things that we shun off as just being imaginative. But, they see things we do not see because they are open to it. What they see, hear and feel are very real! Their antennas are wide open to receiving.

We all have the ability to connect with Divine guidance; all we need is the intention to be receptive to receiving, and the faith that it will be reciprocated. As we train ourselves to be open and more receptive, we will start to see the synchronicity happening around us; gut feelings will become stronger; messages may be delivered through dreams; and visions come out of nowhere!

Do you get readings for yourself?

Yes, over the years I have gotten readings from other Advisors. I have done readings for myself, but the ego has a mind of its own! So, I have a few readers that I have been dealing with for many years and I trust them, knowing that they are not going to steer me in the wrong direction. I believe in truth and honesty, and we have developed a relationship of mutual trust and respect. I am not a difficult person to read for.

Is there anything else you would like to share about your abilities?

I believe in Angels! They come through my readings all of the time.

A few years ago, when I moved to the West Coast (originally from New York), I was going through a very difficult period of my life. I felt very lost and confused and very “scared!” I remember looking up to the heavens and saying, “Angels, if you exist, please give me a sign because I can’t do this on my own.” As a matter of fact, I felt very spiritually depleted and was slowly but surely losing faith. That day, I needed to run some errands and got into my car. Something inside of me kept nudging me to look upward toward the sky. When I did, there was a sight I never thought I would see; up in the sky was the largest cloud in the form of an Angel! I got out of my car and looked around to see if anyone else saw it, but everyone was so busy doing their own thing, rushing around. To this very day (even as I type this) I can still see that Angel staring down at me. It was a sign only for me! I regret that I did not have a camera (my cell phone was no t working !!), but the vision will always be implanted in my mind.
