Interview With a Psychic: Amber Marie

Describe how you first found out about your psychic abilities.

I am a born Indigo empath, who discovered her gifts at an early age. I was able to predict events, and tune into what people were feeling which often was different from what they presented.

I later discovered that I am a Mami Wata child and that it was generational, my late aunts worked with the water people and they too carry messages to me through spirit. These messages can be ancestral, past life or present and always grounded in the wisdom that we choose our lessons and teachers.

I began reading tarot around age 13, drawn to the beautiful imagery of the cards. I then set up my first altar and began to tune in to Spirit. Multicultural myself, I was drawn to the teachings of cultures around the globe and find it easy to relate to a diversity of people, sexual orientations and age groups.

I’m compassionate and loving in my work and enjoy being able to support others on their journey through life.

What have you done to develop your abilities?

I am a certified massage therapist, reflexology, trained in Belief RePatterning and Kundalini Yoga enthusiast. Reiki Master and energy worker, I’ve studied with many spiritual teachers throughout my life both for personal and professional reasons.

I have been studying Astrology for the last five years and am comfortable using in for both predictive and past life confirmations.

Describe your skills.

Every caller is unique to me, I am guided by intuition as to how to begin a reading and will pull in different tools depending on what feels right, and how open the client is. Sometimes it’s a channeling from their Guardian Angel or Ancestor. I may also see with my mind’s eye a scene, or clairaudient receive a message.

Can you communicate with spirits who have passed on?

For me speaking with the Ancestors is a special gift, one that comes forth not by my will, but through the choice of the clients Ancestor.

I have channeled Ancestral messages however I do not perform necromancy of speaking with the dead on demand.

When an Ancestor makes their presence known, I inform the client and describe who is speaking. More often than not the channeling becomes the focus of the reading.

Are you able to turn your psychic abilities ‘on’ or ‘off’ when you want to?

As an empath and psychic I had to learn to open and close my chakras for my own well being.

There are times when I am not working that I feel drawn to a person and Spirit will suggest I offer them insight.

My rituals now are focused most around clearing space, raising vibrational energy if needed and giving thanks to my guides, Angels and Ancestors

What is life like living with these abilities?

The most challenging thing for myself was realizing that not everyone had a highly developed sense of intuition, foresight, or sixth sense of ‘knowing’.

While it makes working with clients who are open to these realities much easier, it also means having to sometimes disguise how I know information from skeptics or as Harry Potter would say ‘Muggles’.

Empathy is definitely a double edge sword as we must learn to shield and to master objectivity so we are not overwhelmed with the emotions of others.

It took me many years to realize how sensitive I am to an environment – and to this day there are some venues or places where I decline my presence as the vibrations would seem too chaotic or unpleasant. For example: I don’t care for casinos, or large crowds

Do you think anyone can develop psychic skills?

I believe we are all given abilities based on our souls awareness and evolution. Some people prefer to call their intuition a ‘gut feeling’ because the realm of Spirit is too abstract for them.

Our early childhood also plays an important factor in whether we can acknowledge these abilities without fear. In many parts of the world and in some religions, prophecy is seen as evil. I am fortunate to have been able to choose my beliefs and follow my hearts guidance.

Do you get readings for yourself?

I read for myself daily! Why? Because I love to practice my craft and like everyone else I enjoy getting directions on the roads of life.

I also ask for others to read for me, especially if I feel my emotions are projecting or may not be objective. Mostly though because it’s great fun and I meet others who are talented and amazing

I walk between two worlds and have seen other dimensions including Akaskic records.

I really enjoy investigative work, examine relationships and encouraging others to develop their abilities whether they are metaphysical, mental or physical.
