Interview With a Tarot Reader: Christy Jean

Describe how you first found out about your psychic abilities.

I have experienced what I now know to be psychic abilities as far back as my earliest childhood memories. However, due to an obstruction in my mouth that prevented me from developing speech at an expected age. By the time that was corrected, and I could speak clearly enough to describe what I experienced, I was old enough to understand that I was very different from anyone I knew and that my gifts would not be understood or readily accepted.

All of my life I’ve had an ability to know and feel what others were feeling, and people would regularly tell me that I was very easy to talk to and that they felt that they could tell me things they couldn’t share with anyone else, and in many cases had never shared with anyone else. I didn’t know until adulthood that this was called being an empath. Because I didn’t fully understand the depth of my gifts, I didn’t know how to properly shield or clear energy. That resulted in even more feelings that I didn’t understand because I was unknowingly absorbing all of the energy around me. Over the years I was treated for everything from depression and anxiety to bipolar mood disorder and schizophrenia. At one point I was committed to a mental health facility for “hearing voices” and “seeing things”. Needless to say, that was a particularly challenging part of my journey. However, I’ve gained the perspective that I was faced with those challenges in order to be able to extend greater compassion and encouragement to others who have either experienced or are fearful of, ridicule and persecution for sharing or developing their gifts and abilities. The very talented and deeply spiritual author, Maya Angelou, wrote a book that she titled, “Wouldn’t Take Nothin’ For My Journey Now”, and I have to say that those are my sentiments exactly!

What have you done to develop your abilities?

After awakening to the spiritual and energetic shift happening on the earth at this time, realizing just how much my gifts are needed, and fully embracing what I was put on the earth to do, I decided to fully commit myself to understanding and developing my gifts as much as possible. I obtained certifications as a Spiritual Healing Practitioner, Angel Card Reader, Reiki Master, Yoga Instructor, Crystal Healer, and Professional Psychic Medium. I am currently working toward obtaining certification in the field of Remote Viewing, and look forward to continuing my studies as I feel guided in other esoteric and spiritual areas as well!

Describe your skills.

My readings are unique in that I primarily channel messages from the archangels. I use tarot cards specifically created and designed to be a tool to receive guidance from the angels. As the cards pop up, I begin receiving audible messages and visions from the angels. The archangels are my primary source for guidance and messages, and the readings are often extremely powerful!

Can you communicate with spirits who have passed on?

Yes, sometimes I think a little too well! At times it’s like Grand Central Station! I’ve communicated with the deceased since childhood, and I enjoy regularly visiting with my great-grandmother, who was one of my very favorite people when I was younger. As I’m writing this she is lovingly reminding me that she hasn’t gone anywhere and is still one of my very favorite people, ha ha!

Many relatives of my husband have visited, and I’m often visited by relatives of friends or acquaintances who are struggling due to the loss of their loved one. I’m often guided to work with people to help them understand that they haven’t lost all communication, and I often feel guided to help people achieve peace in regard to their loved one’s whereabouts after passing.

Are you able to turn your psychic abilities ‘on’ or ‘off’ when you want to?

I shared in a previous answer that for a very long time I didn’t fully understand my gifts, and so I didn’t know that it was possible to manage or control them. Now, after educating myself and finding some really great techniques to put into practice, I’m able to rest my mind and recharge my energy if I need to. Although, I will say that if a message needs to be heard, it will come through! The archangels won’t infringe upon our free will, but because I have asked them to please interrupt anything I’m doing if a message needs to be heard at a certain time, they honor my request and get my attention.

What is life like living with these abilities?

It’s pretty amazing, actually!! Although, I can’t really imagine life any other way. Even through the challenges of my earlier years, I consider it a huge blessing to receive messages that not only bring understanding and guidance for my own life but also allow me to be a conduit for compassion and healing for others. There’s nothing quite like seeing in someone’s eyes or hearing in their voice that healing has occurred, or that they have a sense of peace that wasn’t there before. I am humbled daily that our awesome creator chose me to do this work!

Do you think anyone can develop psychic skills?

Absolutely! Intuition has been divinely placed in the DNA of every person on the planet. Due to many reasons, that ability usually lies dormant. However, with guidance, encouragement, and a little practice, everyone has the ability to do what I do. I feel that when people are ready to let go of old beliefs and teachings, step out of fear of the unknown, and really seek the divinity within themselves, they’ll find that they are capable of many things that once appeared impossible!

I’m incredibly grateful to connect with people from all walks of life, knowing that we all share a common thread. Do you get readings for yourself?

I give readings to myself all the time! I have only ever received a reading from someone else once before, and it was a very positive experience. I look very forward to getting to know the other psychics within the network better and receiving readings from them as well. It is truly a blessing to work with so many talented and gifted people!
